Here's What's Coming to Netflix this Month

Summer's on its way out, to be replaced by the cool, colorful, breezy masterpiece that is autumn. In other words, you'll soon finally have legitimate excuses to stay in bed. But what to do with all this time spent huddled under covers? Why, peruse Netflix's new September listings, of course.

There's a great lineup of new titles, including everything from old classic thrillers to hotly-anticipated new superhero shows. Here are some highlights.

Luke Cage Season 1

This spin-off of Netflix's Jessica Jones promises all the machine-gun violence and bloody punches of a Tarantino film, with the cinematography of a feature. Throw in a bulletproof superhuman (who also happens to be Marvel's first black lead hero) and you've got an exciting new thriller to binge.

Jaws (1975)

Steven Spielberg's terrifying iconic film endures the test of time and continues to frighten and entertain. It's for the best that it's coming back to you after bikini season.

Hoot (2006)

Carl Hiaasen's must-read young adult novel got the big screen treatment in this gem of a film, featuring then-newbies Logan Lerman and Brie Larson. The movie follows a group of kids in Florida on a quest to save an endangered species of owl. Funny, heartwarming, and starring pre selfie-era teenagers, this movie is a refreshingly earnest watch.
