10 Gay Must-Sees at Hollywood Bowl This Summer


The arena has a packed summer line-up of queer favorites, from Diana Ross to Shakespeare.  

The Hollywood Bowl does summer better than any other performance space. Enjoy a pre-concert picnic before soaking in stunning sounds and marvelous sights with some of the best California weather.

We're also giving away a round-trip flight to L.A., a one-night stay at the Sunset Marquis, and a pair of box tickets to see Culture Club on Saturday, August 27, at the Hollywood Bowl. Sing-a-Long Sound of Music, June 24 @ 6:30PM

Join for an interactive sing-a-long of the Julie Andrews classic, followed by a screening of the movie at 8PM.

Star Trek, July 8 & 9 @8PM

A screening of J.J. Abrams' well-respected reboot will be aired on the Bowl's big screen in HD. Oh, and did we mention conductor David Newman will be leading the score live-to-picture?

West Side Story, July 14 & 19 @ 8PM

One of theater's most beloved scores gets an entire orchestration, from "Maria" to "America," "Somewhere" to "Tonight." Remember the Bernstein classic like never before, thanks to expert conduction by Gustavo Dudamel.

Diana Ross, July 15 & 16 @ 8PM

Legendary Diana Ross returns to the bowl with all her hits, like "Stop! In the Name of Love" and "I'm Coming Out." Any chance to see her in concert should be seized.

A Chorus Line, July 29 & 30 @ 8PM and July 31 @ 7:30PM

This annual, fully staged production of the groundbreaking musical is not to be missed! The iconic choreography and unforgettable music will astound you in one thrilling sensation of a performance.

Brandi Carlile, August 20 @ 8PM

Singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile captures the raw and powerful sound of true rock 'n' roll as she celebrates her sixth album, The Firewatcher's Daughter, alongside the high-energy old-time string band, Old Crow Medicine Show.

Shakespeare at the Bowl, August 30 & September 1 @ 8PM

Revel in classic scenes and inspired music from the Shakespeare cannon, all in honor of the playwright's death 400 years ago.

John Williams: Maestro of the Movies, September 2-3 @ 8PM and September 4 @ 7:30 PM

The iconic John Williams has lent his talent to movie scores like Star Wars, E.T., Jaws, Schindler's List, and many more films. On these two nights, Williams will perform new scores as well as old favorites.

KRAFTWERK 3-D September 18 @ 7PM

Electronic music pioneers Kraftwerk continue their streak of highly acclaimed 3-D concerts in their first-ever Hollywood Bowl appearance. Combining music, computer animations, and performance art, their 3-D concerts are truly extraordinary.

BLOC PARTY September 25 @ 7PM

With an endless array of giddy electro-pop anthems, English indie rock institution Bloc Party takes the Bowl stage, transporting you to their dance pop fantasyland.
