The rock legend took to the stage for a piano solo of "Space Oddity."
On Wednesday night during a concert at Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles, Elton John performed a solo piano cover of David Bowie's "Space Oddity," dedicating it to the Starman himself.
The audience stood in silence as they watched John perform the arrangement in a glittering black jacket. At the end of the piece John lead into his own "Rocket Man" with a full band, ending the mash-up:
During the two-hour concert, John was joined by Demi Lovato and performed "Don't Go Breaking My Heart." Originally sung by Kiki Dee, Lovato was able to effortlessly keep the audience bopping side-to-side while John played on the piano:
John was also joined by Canadian singer Shawn Mendes and Fall Out Boy's Patrick Stump.
The remainder of the evening was dedicated to John's new album Wonderful Crazy Night. Songs like "A Good Heart," "In the Name of You," "Blue Wonderful" and the album's title track were performed at the venue.
