The Search for Young Han Solo is On

The Force Awakens is nowhere near ready for a nap, yet more and more news about upcoming Star Wars projects is coming to light. Episode VII's incomparable box office success has proven that people still love the galactic narrative that spans not only light years, but generations.

Apart from the promised final trilogy, Disney is also working on franchise-adjacent projects, like this December's Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and standalone origin stories for at least Boba Fett and Han Solo. [SPOILER ALERT] Now that Solo's story has reached its conclusion for the most part (there, I still kept it vague) the search for someone to play his younger self has been narrowed down a short list of actors.

According to Variety, the likes of Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, Jack Reynor, Scott Eastwood, Logan Lerman, Emory Cohen, and Blake Jenner have made the cut thus far. Hopefully the casting studio takes into account the rugged smugness that Harrison Ford lent to the franchise's original bad boy when making their decision. It's speculated that a young Han may make an appearance in Rogue One as a tie-in to his own film, set to release in 2018.
