Enjoy a First Look at Kelly Rowland in Empire Season 2

I don't think you're ready for this, Kelly.

Fox has released a first look of Kelly Rowland's guest appearance in the upcoming second season of Empire. Rowland will play the mother of the man behind the empire, Lucious Lyon (Terrence Howard). The photo depicts Rowland's character in a flashback scene, comforting her adolescent son.

If it's true when they say men marry their mother, we can only hope for Rowland to portray one fierce and fabulous mama bear of a matriarch to match Taraji P. Henson's 'Cookie.' Perhaps we can hope for a visit from Aunt Beyonce too.

Rowland is joining an epic roster of celebrity guest appearances, including Mariah Carey, Alicia Keys, Lenny Kravitz, and Marisa Tomei as a lesbian billionairess.

Empire returns September 23 to Fox.
