Watch Katherine Heigl in Jenny's Wedding

Katherine Heigl has made a career of playing middle-class all-American women -- a perpetual bridesmaid or knocked up by an average schlub -- which has made her despised by many for being a pretty-and-privileged cipher. But in her latest role in Jenny's Wedding, Heigl subverts fan expectations by playing a woman who comes out to her family and tells them she's marrying her girlfriend (played by Alexis Bledel of Gilmore Girls).

The film premieres July 10 at Outfest and opens in theaters July 31. Watch the trailer below:
