Love is in the air.

In the upcoming movie Jenny's Wedding, Katherine Heigl plays a smart and extremely private woman who just proposed to her girlfriend, Kitty, played by Alexis Bledel.

"Kitty and I want to get married, Mom," Jenny (Heigl) tells her mother, Rose (Linda Emond), in the new trailer.

"You're marrying your roommate?" her confused mother asks.

"She's not my roommate, Mom," Jenny replies.

The trailer debuted Thursday, just a week after the Supreme Court's decision to legalize same-sex marriage across the country.

The drama-comedy shows a family's struggle to adapt to their daughter's sexuality and accept her for who she is and who she loves.

The film, which also stars Tom Wilkinson and Grace Gummer, hits theaters on July 31.
