Michael J. Saul’s The Surface will have its world premiere June 27 at the iconic Castro Theatre in San Francisco as part of Frameline Film Festival

In The Surface, from director Michael J. Saul, we witness disaffected 22-year-old college student Evan (Australian model Harry Hains) as he lives with his wealthy older boyfriend Chris (Nicholas McDonald). An orphan, Evan continues to struggle with trying to understand himself as his relationship turns volatile. Then he finds an 8mm movie camera at a yard sale and things begin to change as he begins to watch old home movies on it and discover an artistic desire as well as a passion for a new man in his 40s named Peter (Michael Redford). Out has an exclusive clip from the film to share that shows Peter and Evan getting to know one another better.
