Sarah Jane Nader will always be exactly who she is. Whether she’s competing on Dancing with the Stars, starring alongside her family on Love Thy Nader, or launching a collection with Express, she brings all of herself to every context.
“There is so much power in being unapologetically yourself,” she says. “I want the next generation of LGBTQ+ people to grow up knowing they don’t have to shrink, explain, or change who they are to belong. We deserve to be seen, supported, and celebrated exactly as we are.”
Nader came out as bisexual during the first season of Love Thy Nader, a reality show about a close-knit group of sisters from Louisiana who live in New York City. Nader went on to make history this year by competing in the second-ever all-female partnership on DWTS. Although she was eliminated at the end of the two-part premiere, Nader left a lasting imprint.
“I knew that being given that opportunity also came with a responsibility to our community,” she says, “and I was so proud to step onto that dance floor and be part of creating more queer visibility on such a massive platform.” @sarahjanenader
