Actress Taylor Ortega doesn’t believe in a half-hearted performance. In fact, her role in Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott’s crime-comedy Netflix series Big Mistakes proves Ortega isn’t capable of it. And much like her onscreen presence as the impulsive but well-meaning Morgan, she likes to live life in a big, campy, and, perhaps more importantly, queer way.
“It was John Roberts in a big red wig who once said, ‘ya gay, ya gay’ — and thank God,” she says. “I am so grateful to be gay in this lifetime and hopefully every other.”
Big Mistakes is currently filming its second season. “Thanks to Dan and the writers, it's outrageous and so much fun to shoot,” Ortega shared. The actor, comedian, and writer has also appeared in Succession, What We Do in the Shadows, The Four Seasons, and will star in the forthcoming 13 Going on 30 sequel.
Ortega is engaged both onscreen and in real life to her partner, Emily Kob, so she says we can expect “at least two weddings in the near future (but I’m open to as many as six).” We’ll certainly be scanning Instagram for several rounds of wedding photos and hope each set will be even grander than the last. @taylortega
