Who doesnβt want to go on a vacation with Marco Calvani?
Thankfully, the world gets a taste of the fantasy as fans watch Calvani travel the globe on the hit Netflix series The Four Seasons. The Italian-born actor and filmmaker plays Claude, the charming, larger-than-life husband of Colman Domingoβs Danny.
The Four Seasons was recently greenlit for a third season, and Calvani is grateful to continue to tell stories of people who deeply resonate with queer and immigrant communities. Although Calvani describes his spot on the Out100 as a βgift,β he admits to struggling with internalized homophobia throughout his career.
Calvani associates his coming-out journey with βdeep wounds from traumaβ that he experienced early in life, but his acting projects β he also appeared in the theatrical film You, Me & Tuscany this year β have afforded him the opportunity to grow and embrace his own sexuality.
Calvani credits his husband, Marco Pigossi, with helping him βmove through shame and fearβ at various points of his life. βThat freed up my creativity in unexpected ways and forms, opened more compassion in me, and unlocked opportunities I never saw coming,β he says. @mcalvani
