Doechii is preparing for world domination following the release of her second mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal. The album received widespread critical acclaim and landed Doechii her first Grammy win in the Best Rap Album category, a feat only three women have accomplished: Lauryn Hill in 1997, Cardi B in 2019, and now, the Swamp Princess. The Florida native continued her ascent this year, releasing hits like “Nissan Altima,” “Denial Is a River,” and “Anxiety,” and delivering standout performances on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and NPR’s Tiny Desk.
Before Doechii became a rising superstar, she discussed her sexuality in a 2022 interview with GQ, saying, “I always knew that I was queer, and I was bisexual.” In 2025, she headlined WorldPride DC’s closing concert and praised Lady Gaga as a “lifeline” for LGBTQ+ youth in introducing Mother Monster at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. As she wraps up her nationwide Live From the Swamp Tour, all eyes will be on the rapper as she gears up for the release of her debut studio album. @doechii
