Bree Fram is breaking barriers and changing the future as a colonel in the U.S. Space Force — the first out transgender woman to be promoted to that rank in the American military. She ensures our nation’s interests in space remain secure. However, Fram’s impact extends to Earth. She is the leader of the LGBTQ+ Initiatives Team for the Department of Air Force. In this capacity, she advocates for LGBTQ+ military members, civilians, and applicants, focusing on fostering an inclusive environment and workplace.
Fram continues to challenge stereotypes every day, proving that transgender service members are just as capable and dedicated as all others. As Fram looks to her next role, she hopes to become a Delta commander and keep pushing boundaries and developing future leaders, cementing a bright future for LGBTQ+ representation in the military and more.
“Put simply, we belong everywhere and add value anywhere we show up,” she says. “Any nation or organization that cuts off access to a portion of the population is deliberately limiting its potential. Our developmental experiences often create a focus on others and help us shape solutions that benefit everyone.” @bree.fram
