The Moment: October 1, 1962: the first episode of The Merv Griffin Show airs on NBC.
New York's Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on Z100 FM is syndicated on radio stations in nearly 70 markets across the nation, meaning millions of Americans hear Duran's voice every day. Although he doesn't play favorites, he has a soft spot for one pop star in particular. "I've met a lot of people in my interviews that are fascinating, but Lady Gaga has been so important to our community and she's important to me. She grew up listening to me years ago and always wanted to be on our show. So when she comes on, she opens up and tells it like it is. I love a great interview with someone, when they give you the gift of honesty and being open. It's fantastic."
