Fantasy OUT Covers: Frida Kahlo in Gucci

We'll be releasing a series of illustrated fantasy covers with some of our favorite LGBTQ icons throughout history, starting today with the wonderful Frida Kahlo dressed in Gucci spring '17. See, below:

Kahlo was an extraoridnary painter and intellectual, who remains one of the most admired artists in queer history thanks to her uniquely dark, wry, and colorful style. While she's famously known for her marriage to muralist Diego Rivera, Kahlo was openly bisexual, and is rumored to have had affairs with several other notable women of the era, including actress Josephine Baker and painter Georgia O'Keefe. She also embraced a queer persona much ahead of her time, often dressing in men's clothing and balking at traditional gender expectations.
