Several Nashville gay bars have received pieces of hate mail from Trump supporters. According to PinkNews, each included a flier with the acronym LGBT, but depicting images of liberty, beer, guns, and Trump. They were sent in envelopes with MAGA postage.
The assault rifle pictured in the flier resembles one used by Omar Mateen in the 2016 Pulse nightclub shooting. This connection was not lost on Melvin Brown, owner of Stirrup Sports Bar, one of the letters' recipients.
When you put a picture of an assault rifle on there which was used in the Pulse shooting and you mail it to every LGBT bar in Nashville, that is coming from a hateful place," he told local news channel, WTVF. "To say that it's disturbing is an understatement."
The fliers don't appear to be sent from any political figure or organization, and the return address leads to a vacant lot. But locals are staying vigilant.
