'Call Me By Your Name' & 'A Fantastic Woman' Among GLAAD Award Frontrunners

The GLAAD Awards, honoring "media for their fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of the LGBTQ community and the issues that affect their lives," have announced their 2018 nominations today. Awards season favorite Lady Bird and The Shape of Water naturally made their way to the front, and, of course, the very gay Call Me By Your Name.

A Fantastic Woman, the Chilean drama starring Daniela Vega, also received some much-deserved love, for Outstanding Limited Release Film.

A new category was added this year to the GLAAD Media Awards, for "Outstanding Kids & Family Programming category to recognize growing LGBTQ inclusion in all-ages programming." Among those nominated are Disney's Doc McStuffins and Cartoon Network's Steven Universe.

The GLAAD Media Awards will take place in Los Angeles on April 12, 2018 at The Beverly Hilton, and in New York on May 5 at the New York Hilton Midtown. Take a look at the full list of nominees below:
