The Democratic National Convention kicked off Monday with a fair share of inspirational speeches, scandalous political secrets, and party division.
More of the usual, really. But compared with the Republican party's event last week, Americans actually came away from the first day with hope that Democrats have the momentum to stop a Donald Trump presidency come November.
LGBTs, who enjoy the highest level of political recognition at this convention in the country's history, took to Twitter to praise the speakers (really, just Michelle Obama), chide #BernieorBust protesters, and deliver a knock or two to the whole presidential race in general. Take a look.
