She won against her opponent Ohio Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan, in a secret ballot that held a final tally of 134 to 63.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi was re-elected in a closed-door meeting earlier today.

Pelosi is the only woman to have served as Speaker of the House and the highest-ranking female politician in American history.

She won against her opponent Ohio Democratic Rep. Tim Ryan, in a secret ballot that held a final tally of 134 to 63, CNNreports. Shortly after the announcement, Ryan released a statement congratulating Pelosi, saying he ran because "November taught us that changes were necessary."

"I am proud that my bid for Democratic Leader pushed our members to have these tough family discussions about our future and how we win back the majority in 2018," Ryan said in a statement.

Pelosi, who has held her position for over a decade, hasn't been challenged since 2010.

Also re-elected was Representative Steny H. Hoyer as whip, the number two position, Representative James E. Clyburn as the assistant Democratic leader in the number three spot.
