The HRC celebrated their 19th annual National Dinner Saturday night in Washington, D.C. More than 3,000 members of the community came out to show support and celebrate another groundbreaking year for progress for LGBT equality. The organization recognized numerous leaders, letting them tell their inspiring stories of equality and support.
The dinner kicked off with remarks from HRC President Chad Griffin and a speech from Vice President Joe Biden:
Apple CEO Tim Cook took the stage to accept the HRC's Visibility Award after praise from numerous friends, employees, and other people who've been affected by his dedication to the community:
And Allison Janney presented Freeheld star, Ellen Page with the National Vanguard Award while Page's girlfriend, Samantha Thomas, watched and applauded from the audience:
Retired NBA Player, Jason Collins and I Am Cait star, Blossom Brown, also gave speeches with performances by Carly Rae Jepsen, A Great Big World, and Futuristic.
