After leaving Fifth Harmony, singer-songwriter Camila Cabello seems to be doing pretty well for herself. Her debut solo record, Camila, came out this past Friday (January 12) and has already reached the number 1 spot on 99 iTunes charts around the world, the most top spots for a solo artist in the site's history.
The New York Times reported that in regards to Fifth Harmony, Cabello "initially wanted to stay in the group while working on a solo album, but the other members shut her out instead."
She also explained that her collaboration with Shawn Mendes in 2015, "I Know What You Did Last Summer," had caused tension among the group.
Her new album features the smash hit "Havana," currently in its 23rd week on the BillboardHot 100 and a pick for Barack Obama's Best Songs of 2017. Take a listen, and watch the telenovela-inspired music video, below:
