Superfruit Battles For Blood in New 'Future Friends' Video

Superfruit

Watch pop duo Mitch Grassi & Scott Hoying fight each other in the ring.

Making a bloody wrestling match campy and queer is a dignified challenge, and yet power-pop duo Superfruit has somehow managed to achieve the impossible feat. In their new music video for "Future Friends," Mitch Grassi and Scott Hoying battle each other in the ring until both are bruised and left with the lingering promise, "If it all ends, I promise that one day, we could be future friends."

Of course, this Alon Isocianu-directed visual isn't your typical masc4masc wrestling experience. First, we see Hoying with some glam-rock Bowie-inspired makeup.

Then, Grassi enters the arena looking like Gene Simmons-meets-Lil Kim in a legendary Big Bird-yellow hooded coat.

...Followed by an explosion of confetti and dollar bills, because glamorous and rich.

Once in the ring, Hoying and Grassi make eyes at each other and lick their lips, not unlike two queers at the club scoping out their 2 AM prey.

But this ultimately is a battle of equal strength, as the Superfruit stars both crumble under each other's tremendous might.

Watch all the magic, below, ahead of Superfruit's Future Friends (Deluxe Album) release on September 15.
