Just in case you were dubious after hearing that Kingsman hunk Taron Egerton was slated to play Elton John in an upcoming biopic, fear no more. The first official image of Egerton as the Rocket Man is here in all its golden glory.
In the sneak peek we see Egerton relaxing on what appears to be a private jet, legs crossed on a sofa dripping in gold. From his tinted glasses frames, to his lame jacket, to his chain, all the way down his immaculate legs to his winged, metallic boots, Egerton shines and artfully embodies a man who, through his fashion and flamboyance, always lived his life out loud, even when it was frowned upon.

Rocketman will chronicle the early years of John's career during his meteoric rise to fame and subsequent struggles with addiction. Earlier this year Egerton got advice from John himself, who, along with husband David Furnish, is producing the film under their Rocket Pictures company. John reminded Egerton not to try and copy his music exactly, but rather put his own spin on it while still paying homage to the original.
Jamie Bell, Gemma Jones, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Richard Madden are also slated to star in the film, which opens May 31, 2019.
