The sapphic thriller is based on Sarah Waters’ novel, Fingersmith.
Based on the critically acclaimed novel, Fingersmith by British author, Sarah Waters, comes a visually-striking cinematic experience from Oldboy director, Park Chan-wook. The Handmaiden is a sultry crime drama about a young Japanese woman and her Korean handmaiden. The servant's true intentions are not so innocent though.

The first teaser for The Handmaiden shows a cut of Chan-wook's visionary images. The sapphic thriller features performances from Min-hee Kim, Tae Ri Kim, and Jung-woo Ha.
