Timothy Conigrave's memoir Holding the Man is making its way to the big screen in the UK. It tells the story of his adolescent love with John Caleo that sparked a lifelong relationship.
Although it's a beautiful romance, it depicts the unfortunate struggles that many gay men faced in the '80s and '90s. Disapproval from friends and family, discrimination from strangers, and the dangers of a then-new virus all play obstacles in this true love story.
The trailer for the Australian film is a compilation of beautiful cinematography and breathtaking performances from Ryan Corr and Craig Scott ,as well as from veteran actors Anthony LaPaglia and Guy Pearce. With a June release in the UK, we can only hope it comes to the US soon.
