Tom Hardy: The Fighting in 'Dark Knight Rises' Will Be 'Nasty'

Actor makes being bad look so very good

There's something about Batman that we'll never get over. Whether it's the whole dark do-gooder thing, the weird, nipple-tastic costumes or the strange situation he's got going on with Alfred and Robin, something about Gotham City's favorite son keeps us hooked.

So when Empire magazine got director Christopher Nolan to spill details of his upcoming Dark Knight Rises, we couldn't wait to read it. And while Nolan certain dishes on what to expect from his third Batman movie--"it's really about finishing Batman and Bruce Wayne's story," he said--it was what dreamboat villain (and confirmed dude-diddler) Tom Hardy, who plays Bane, said that got us counting down days until the film is released.

Talking about his character, Hardy said, "He's brutal. Brutal. He's a big dude who's incredibly clinical, in the fact that he has a result-based and oriented fighting style. It's not about fighting. It's about carnage."

As anyone who saw Hardy kick ass in Bronson or Warrior knows, when dude goes on a rampage, it's a glory to behold.

"The style is heavy-handed, heavy-footed, it's nasty," he went on. "Anything from small-joint manipulation to crushing skulls, crushing rib cages, stamping on shins and knees and necks and collarbones and snapping heads off and tearing his fists through chests, ripping out spinal columns. He is a terrorist in mentality as well as brutal action."
