Happy Friday, Out readers!

Have you heard about 'Hetero Awesome Fest'? A bar in Idaho is hosting what is essentially a Straight Pride celebration this June in the state capital, Boise, as a counter to LGBTQ+ Pride.

Last year, Mark Fitzpatrick, the owner of the Old State Saloon in Eagle, a suburb of Boise, announced its "inaugural Heterosexual Awesomeness Month," where "any heterosexual male dressed like a heterosexual male will recieve a free draft beer" on Mondays, and hterosexual couples received 15 percent off their bill on Wednesdays.

This year, he's expanding on his idea with a two-day festival in a park across from the state capitol building.

"The Hetero Awesome Fest and Heterosexual Awesomeness Month aim to celebrate the traditional family unit and address concerns about cultural trends influenced by liberal progressivism," Fitzpatrick said. "Our event is not about targeting any group but about raising awareness of practices we find troubling, such as the encouragement of 'gender transitions' among children or their exposure to inappropriate content."

While this seems ridiculous and laughable at first, a look at the bar's Instagram account reveals something more sinister.

In addition to posts about "Hetero Awesome Fest" and detransitioners, the bar's Instagram has clips from the Oldstate Salooncast where people talk about Pizzagate, say that 9/11 and October 7 were "false flag" operations, and spread other dangerous conspiracy theories.

It's a grim reminder that often, when someone is homophobic or transphobic, they also hold other hateful, bigoted, and ignorant beliefs.

Bisexual country singer Maren Morris' new song "too good," is great! In the song, she sings, "It's too bad it's taken me this long to say / I was always too good for your ass anyway." The song serves as a powerful message to all the conservative people in the country music community who made Morris feel like she didn't belong.
