Theo James Talks 'Carnal' Sex Scene With Will Sharpe on White Lotus

“It began in a kind of romantic way…” the actor explained.

Theo James had the gays shaking this week.

Throughout the entire second season of The White Lotus, viewers wondered if James’ character, Cameron, and Will Sharpe’s character, Ethan, would end up hooking up in the series. Despite being introduced as friends from college, there appeared to be a sexual tension between the two of them that could only be resolved with some next-level “bromance.”

This week, James spoke to Variety while attending the 2023 SAG Awards and was asked about whether or not his character was going to have sex with Sharpe’s. The actor teased:

“They cut the sex scene. It began in a kind of romantic way but then it gets very carnal, but Mike decided to cut it. No, I’m joking! There was no sex scene.”

In the end, Cameron and Ethan never hooked up on The White Lotus. But if a sex scene between them had actually been filmed and was subsequently cut from the episodes, gay fans of the series would be storming every social media platform demanding to #ReleaseTheCameronEthanCut.

Unfortunately, it seemed pretty clear that James was just teasing during his interview with Variety at the SAG Awards… so this White Lotus “bromance” will have to live on in fan-fiction.

In the meantime, we’re keeping our eyes peeled for any news or updates about season three of The White Lotus!

Seasons one and two of The White Lotus are streaming on HBO Max.
