Athena Dion wants to set the record straight.
As the self-proclaimed Queen of Miami, Dion has received a lot of love and hate during her time as a contestant on season 18 of RuPaul's Drag Race.
One of Dion's biggest critics has proven to be none other than Drag Race season 6 winner Bianca Del Rio. The beloved queen has read Dion down on a weekly basis by sharing her honest critiques as host of The Pit Stop.
"Honey, she talks about me on every Pit Stop! There is a physical reaction to my name. I can't help but think that she is in love with me. She has to be! I've never met anyone who's hated me," Dion tells Out.
In fact, Dion theorizes that Del Rio's harsh critiques may be a twisted form of flattery. As opposed to solely squashing the beef, Dion hopes the two could develop a friendship... or even something more.
"You must be a popping a lady boner under that polka dot dress, babe. If that's the case, let's free it and make something happen! I want to go on a date with Bianca Del Rio! If I can't win the $200,000 cash prize, I want Bianca to take me out. Take me out for dinner!"
Dion is also evolving as a queen by reflecting on her time on Drag Race. The star has heard all of the feedback from the fans and wants to fall in love with drag again.
"Drag Race will put a mirror in front of your face and show you who you really are. The hardest part for me was letting go of control of my image. I've been doing drag for so long. I wanted to be this perfect little drag queen. You have to deconstruct that pretty image on Drag Race. I didn't realize how hard that was going to be for me, but it's a lesson learned. I'm a raw drag queen again!"
RuPaul's Drag Race airs Friday nights on MTV.
