Much to the elation of sapphics and country fans everywhere, Maren Morris and Cassadee Pope seemingly just confirmed their relationship.

Just two years after coming out as bisexual, Morris posted a picture of her cuddled up with the fellow country musician in an Instagram carousel, including a playbill for Meg Stalter’s run as Mary Todd Lincoln in Oh, Mary! (which is gay in and of itself).

If there was more confirmation needed following the July 7 post, Pope reposted the photo to her Instagram Stories, according to The Sun, adding the caption, β€œTrying to get bb to move here, everyone help.”

The same day, Pope posted another photo of the pair fully kissing to her Instagram Stories, with the caption, β€œshe won’t go out with you because she’s out with me, silly.”

Though this is the first time the pair has smooched on main, Morris and Pope have had a friendship spanning back years. Frequently photographed at country music events over the years, Pope even opened for Morris during her world tour in 2019. The two have also publicly stood up for LGBTQ+ rights, with the pair actively fighting transphobia within the country music scene after the wife of singer Jason Aldean, Brittany Aldean, made transphobic insinuations in 2022 with a post about being grateful to her parents for β€œnot changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase.”

Conservative pundit Tucker Carlson called Morris a "lunatic country music person” following the call out, which she turned into merch with Trans Lifeline’s hotline number on it.

All of this to say, a queer couple that fights transphobia together stays together, and we love that for them.

Morris made headlines when she came out as bisexual in 2024, adding to the growing list of queer country music stars like Orville Peck and Brandi Carlile.

β€œComing from country music and its relationship with LGBTQ+ members, I just want to say I’m sorry,” Morris said during a 2023 episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked. β€œAnd I love you guys for making me feel like a brave voice in country music. So, I just thank you guys so much for inspiring me.”
