Megan Skiendiel, a member of the popular K-pop group KATSEYE, has shared that she identifies as bisexual, becoming the second member of the band to come out as queer.
She and her fellow bandmate, Lara Raj, were on a recent live broadcast on Weverse, a South Korean fan platform. During the broadcast, the two talked with their fans and played with hair extensions, when Skiendiel asked Raj, āShould I just do it?ā and then said, āGuys, Iām coming out, Iām bisexual.ā They both excitedly jumped up and down, and Skiendiel can be heard saying that she was nervous to say it.
āGuys, I came out on Pride Month ⦠so give me that award, girl,ā Skiendiel says, referring to the Blooming Impact award that Raj got from the LGBT Center in Los Angeles. Raj then responds, āNext time she gets the Blooming Impact award and hey, I'm gonna present it to you and be like, 'hey, I was the first, you were the second.'ā They continue to celebrate and Raj says, āI'm proud of you, Megan. Everyone say, we love bisexuals!ā and Megan added, āWe love bisexuals, and while I'm at it, let me also raise awareness about psoriasis. I have psoriasis.ā
She seemingly confirmed her sexuality last month when she was on a live and said, āWhy is everyone asking if Iām...ā and mouthed the word ābi.ā She responded and said, āYes, I am.ā

This is the second member of the group to come out as queer. Back in March, Raj was talking with fans on Weverse and shared more about her identity. āI knew I was half a fruitcake when I was like 8, so I really was wanting everybody," she wrote. "Honestly, probably before 8. Isnāt half a fruitcake such a good way to explain it without saying it?ā
KATSEYE was formed during the 2023 competition series, The Debut: Dream Academy, which premiered on Netflix. Raj was chosen to be a member of the group along with Skiendiel, Daniela Avanzini, Manon Bannerman, Sophia Laforteza, and Yoonchae Jeong. Raj admitted in the Weverse chat that she was nervous about coming out because she wasnāt sure how it would be received. āYou know, in Dream Academy when it came out I was really, really scared tbh,ā she wrote. "I didnāt know if people would accept me, and I really thought it would ruin my chances of getting in.ā
Raj continued and told the fans, āAnd then you all were so so nice about it and gave me so much love and support and it made me feel so confident in who I am, so I love you for that.ā
With two openly queer members, KATSEYE is one of the few K-pop groups to have multiple bandmates who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.
