Euphoria’s Jacob Elordi and Babylon’s Diego Calva are set to play lovers in a new drama with a cast packed with young stars.
Deadline reports that Daniel Minahan’s upcoming adaptation of Shannon Pufahl’s novel On Swift Horses has cast Elordi, Calva, Daisy Edgar-Jones, Will Poulter, and Sasha Calle to star in the film, with a script adapted by Bryce Kass.
The movie follows newlyweds Muriel (Edgar-Jones) and Lee (Poulter) who are “beginning a bright new life when he returns from the Korean War. However, this newfound stability is upended by the arrival of Lee’s charismatic younger brother, Julius (Elordi), a wayward gambler with a secret.”
“A dangerous love triangle is quickly formed, as the three vow to start a new life together in California, but their bid for the American Dream is blown apart when Julius disappears and heads for Las Vegas instead,” the description continues. “Muriel embarks on a secret life of her own, gambling on racehorses and discovering a love she never thought possible.”
Film Updates reports that when Julius finds himself in Las Vegas, he meets Henry (Calva), a blackjack artist, and says “Henry and Julius’ love burns in the shadows until Henry is forced to flee.”
