The Dune franchise is truly the film trilogy that keeps on giving, literally. The popcorn buckets for the third installment, Dune: Part Three, have just been previewed and one variant includes two silicone openings that make it “easier to share,” per AMC’s press release, among other features.
The first variant is called the “Sandworm Thumper,” named after the device used to call sandworms in the film franchise, and features a “functioning thumper design,” per AMC. Based on social media video it seems to feature a small internal motor of some sort — a pretty high-tech move for popcorn buckets, which have grown increasingly elaborate in an attempt to boost theatrical attendance.
But it’s the second variant that has really captured the internet’s attention: It’s called the “Double Sandworm” and features a dual-headed silicone topper with openings on both sides for popcorn enjoyers to reach into, although fans online are already getting creative with how they can be repurposed.
“at this point the popcorn bucket needs its own age rating,” one X user wrote.
“Ya know what,” another user added. “It’s my fault for opening the internet actually”
As droves of people have already pointed out, we’d be remiss to not observe that the popcorn buckets also bear a striking resemblance to Fleshlights, a sex toy designed for penetrative solo play with a ridged interior shaft and a silicone opening. Although an arm-sized hole may not exactly replicate the same sensation as a Fleshlight or similar toys, the spindly fronds on the interior of the opening, meant to resemble the monster’s maw, could certainly add a fun sensation for those brave enough to dare!
Enjoying the “Double Sandworm” popcorn bucket would, in theory, be quite simple: You stick whatever you want to get stimulated into the opening and enjoy. The exterior silicone pieces could also allow users to grind on the outside of the bucket if desired. The most important thing to remember is to use water-based lubrication with something made out of silicone — and we’d also strongly advise against using butter, real or synthetic, as a lubricant for a variety of hygienic and medical reasons.
