"We've all been told that we don't fit in before," the trailer for JoJo Siwa's new movie The J Team starts out saying. "What if we celebrated everyone being unique?"
That's the vibe throughout the whole trailer, which, of course, features lots of rainbows and tons of great dancing.
The film, which Siwa also executive produced, also stars Tisha Campbell-Martin, Laura Soltis, Julia Marley, Kerrynton Jones, and Kiara T. Romero, and was written by Eydie Fae and directed by Michael Lembeck. It will also feature six all-new songs from Siwa.
According to Deadline, The J Team follows a young girl named JoJo who loves to dance and be herself. When her beloved dance coach retires and is replaced by a new, sparkle- and rainbow-hating instructor, she must try her hardest to fit into the new, strict rules.
But JoJo and her friends realize they can't change who they are just to fit in, and "realizing she cannot hide her sparkle or bow anymore, JoJo is kicked out of her dance troupe and must rediscover what dancing means to her."
"AHHHHH!!!!! I'm so excited to FINALLY share the trailer for my new movie The J Team," Siwa posted on Instagram. "I'm SO happy with how this movie came to life!! It's been in the works for 3 years now so to finally share it with you is a DREAM come true!!! Watch The J Team streaming on Paramount+ on SEPTEMBER 3RD!!!!"
Now that Siwa has come out, this story of trying to be someone you're not to please others and learning you have to be your most authentic self really hits a lot harder. The former Dance Moms star, who has over 10 million followers on Instagram and YouTube and over 30 million on TikTok, came out earlier this year.
"In my career I've always been super, super happy, but like personally, I have never, ever, ever, ever been this happy before and it feels really awesome and I've been really happy for a little bit now," she said about coming out.
Siwa and her girlfriend Kylie recently celebrated their six month anniversary together, which Siwa called :without a question...by far...the Best 6 months ever :)"
The J Team debuts on Paramount+ on September 3.
