Call us label whores (we've been called worse...like within the last 20 minutes), but basically if Prada makes something, we want it on our bodies immediately. And while the head honcho-ess, Ms. Miuccia Prada is known in the industry for continually pushing fashion forward and into the future, it appears that there's a small part of her that's nostalgic for the past, too. Hence the introduction of her latest endeavor: a capsule collection of handmade shoes, called Walking in Milano. As you'd expect from the keep-'em-guessing label, the foundation is rooted in traditional men's footwear, but it's fabricated and constructed with a "modern twist." You didn't think she'd just make your run-of-the-mill brogue or cap-toe, did you? No, no, no. Miuccia wants you sporting a golf-inspired shoe or monk-strap in all white, or a richly textured Chelsea boot, classic shapes with just a sliver of quirk. Check out the promo video below to get an idea of just how much work goes into the making of a shoe like this (which we assume means that they are expensive as heck). It's no walk in the park to do things the classic way, and in today's world of mass-production, we're sure Ms. Prada had to do quite a bit of research to find these Old World craftsmen. But as we said before, it's Prada, baby, so of course we want it.
