The Humane Society of New York continually provides homeless animals with safe and willing families across the city. On any given day the organization is responsible for partnering up the hundreds of animals in their care with a human foil. They've long been noted for their innovative, compassionate, and highly individualized approach to animal care, no small feat in a city that calls itself home to many castaways (animal and otherwise). Fine art, fashion, and portrait photographer Richard Phibbs (did we mention he's a contributor to Out?) recently shot some of the shelter's most adorable and adoptable pets to help raise awareness.
