Riccardo Tisci and Vivienne Westwood are Collaborating for Burberry

Burberry

Vivienne Westwood is opening her archive for Britsh punk and British heritage to meet.

Riccardo Tisci is collaborating with Vivienne Westwood! If you hadn't already forgotten, Tisci is the new creative director of classic British brand Burberry. Despite fashion industry skepticism and the ongoing creative director roulette, it looks like Tisci will have an interesting legacy on the brand--he's bringing in punk fashion icon Westwood.

Known for her working with the Sex Pistols and modernizing the British punk scene fashion for the mainstream media (as well as for the iconic Sex and the City wedding dress), Vivienne Westwood is the perfect British designer with whom Tisci should do his first Burberry collaboration.

On his Instagram, Tisci wrote that Westwood was "one of the first designers who made me dream to become a designer." In a fun, nostalgic twist for us and Tisci, Westwood is opening her archive for the collaboration that will be a limited-edition collection of her reworked designs, according to The Cut. The collection will launch in December 2018, three months after Tisci's London Fashion Week debut in September. Also, Westwood, who Tisci deemed "the original British PUNK" is donating a portion of the collection's proceeds to Cool Earth, a charity focused on saving the rainforests, reports Vogue.

Who knows what this collaboration will bring? I'm hoping for more Sex and the City-esquewedding dresses or maybe even a punk-style Burberry trench coat. We'll just have to wait and see until December.
