CFDA Partners with Planned Parenthood for NYFW: Men's

"The fashion industry has a powerful voice."

The Council of Fashion Designers of America continues its ongoing support of Planned Parenthood this season with a special pin for New York Fashion Week: Men's. Marked with the hot pink statement, "Fashion Stands with Planned Parenthood," the CFDA hopes this will raise awareness and encourage fashion show attendees to take action.

"The fashion industry has a powerful voice and we will continue to speak up for organizations like Planned Parenthood that need our help now more than ever," said Steven Kolb, President and CEO of the CFDA. "New York Fashion Week: Men's is a good time to remind people of the services Planned Parenthood provides for men, including STI testing and treatment and sex education and information."

Planned Parenthood is currently being threatened by a Senate bill that would defund the orgnaization and immediately impact the 2.4 million people who rely on their services annually. Beyond providing general, high quality health care to men, women and young people, Planned Parenthood offers cancer screenings, vasectomies, infertility screenings, erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation support, and physical exams.

Several designers showing this season have openly pledged their support with CFDA, including Todd Snyder, Gustav Von Aschenbach, N-p-Elliott, Nick Graham, Parke & Ronen, Carlos Campos, Kenneth Ning, and Willy Chavarria, among others.

"We are so grateful to the CFDA for standing with Planned Parenthood by using their creativity to resist and bring attention to the vital health care we provide to millions of people across the country," said Cecile Richards, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America. "This support is incredibly important right now as the Senate still seeks to jam through a vote on Trumpcare, which would strip health care from millions."
