Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka Offer Up Broadway Parenting Advice

How to best introduce your little ones to the theater.

So you want to raise the next Alexander Wollcott or Dorothy Parker? Well, Neil Patrick Harris and hubby David Burtka have some tips for you.

Vanity Faircaught up with the newlywed power couple and proud parents of 4-year-old twins at a fundraising gala for London's National's Theater. "We tested the waters on a Disney cruise ship that had a 40-minute show of Aladdin," Harris told the magazine. "Matinees are at nap time and the evening shows are at bedtime, so it's a bit tricky right now."

"Their first Broadway show was The Lion King," Burtka added. "They sat through the first act, we got to intermission and ate some candy, and then I was tired, the kids were tired, and Neil looked over and all three of us were asleep."

Despite being worn out by being in the audience, we know NPH likes to show off his fancy footwork--most recently in Hedwig--and we're sure the theatrical duo are both dedicated to raising their tots to be talented in some capacity. In case you wonder if they're already getting training as skilled hoofers, check out Burtka's fancy footwork as seen in this clip from the movie Dance Off (available on iTunes and Amazon).
