If the rumors are to be believed, Katie Holmes nearly portrayed Piper Chapman on the hit Netflix series Orange Is the New Black.
In a conversation with E! Online, Jenji Kohan revealed that she considered the former Dawson's Creek star and even met with her about the part.
"I'm a big fan of hers," Kohan said. "You know, I met with her. [Katie] had other things to do. And also in the beginning, no one knew what this was."
Eventually the role went to Taylor Schilling, who was practically an unknown at the start of the show. Her previous credits included acting opposite of Zac Efron in The Lucky One and Atlas Shrugged: Part I.
As for Holmes, the actress said she would be open to a cameo on the show. Schilling even has a possible role idea: the sister of love-obsessed Lorna.
"[Katie] could be friends with Lorna or like Lorna's Boston sister," Schilling said during an OITNB panel.
We're not totally against the idea.
