Watch the Latest Trailer for HBO's Adaptation of The Normal Heart
On Friday, HBO finally debuted it's official trailer for the upcoming adaptation of Larry Kramer's Tony Award-winning play, The Normal Heart. While there have been a number of previews, this HBO's first full length look at the upcoming film directed by Ryan Murphy.
Mark Ruffalo, who plays Ned Weeks, is front and center as the story of the AIDS epidemic unfolds before his eyes. The trailer finally showcases the rest of the cast, which include Julia Roberts, Matt Bomer, Jim Parson, Taylor Kitsch, Jonathan Groff and Joe Mantello.
Also seen are the shots of Fire Island, which were teased by the actors late last year.
"I got to do all the fun scenes at the beginning when we are on Fire Island, and then I die very quickly," Jonathan Groff told us. "It was really intense. It was so exciting to be on set with those actors, all of whom I admire so much. Joe Mantello--I was such a huge fan of his work in the play. And Mark Ruffalo is one of my favorite actors of all time."
The film debuts on HBO May 25.
