Deadline.com is chockablock with queer entertainment stories--and stuff that's close enough--this week.
1. White Collar on the USA Network, which stars openly gay swoon-worthy actor Matt Bomer, is stalled. Filming would likely begin in March if a decision were made to continue the series into its sixth season, but preproduction has not started yet. Season five ended in a cliffhanger with Bomer's character's abduction--so will the series end with a full season, or a miniseries?
2. Speaking of USA, Oscar Nunez, who played the gay character Oscar Martinez on The Office, has joined the case of a USA Network comedy series called Benched. For the 2006-2007 season GLAAD said that Martinez was the only LGBT person of color character on a regular series. Nunez is straight, but we won't hold that against him.
3. True Blood's pansexual vampire Alexander Skarsgard has been cast as Tarzan in the 3D live-action movie, set to open in July 2016 from Warner Bros. Watch this space for loincloth pics.
4. Independent film "It" girl Greta Gerwig (Greenberg, Frances Ha, the upcoming The Humbling) will be the lead in How I Met Your Mother spinoff titled (wait for it) How I Met Your Dad. Gay? Not really, except HIMYM starred gay quintuple threat Neil Patrick Harris and Buffy alum Alyson Hannigan (Willow the lesbian witch). And Gerwig is a lady we really like.
