The series starring Angela Lansbury gets a reboot, with Octavia Spencer behind the magnifying glass
Who could beat Angela Lansbury in a Murder, She Wrote update? No one. Don't even try. Who could come close? The awesome Oscar-winning Octavia Spencer (The Help) could.
NBC will revive on the most successful series ever on TV with a refresh of Murder, She Wrote, starring Spencer as the amateur sleuth; her characters is a hospital administrator and an novice novelist. Deadline Hollywood reports that the new pilot from writer Alexandra Cunningham and producer David Janollari will be "as a light, contemporary procedural in the vein of Bones or Fargo" and that "Lansbury has been approached to be a part of the reboot."
Lansbury was Emmy nominated a record 12 times for the show, which began in 1984 and ran 12 seasons. No date was set for the pilot yet.
