Seattle-based rapper Macklemore made headlines last year with his song "Same Love," which gave vocal support for same-sex marriage. Since then it has become the unofficial anthem for marriage equality around the globe, even as far as Australia.
During Saturday night's Kevin Hart-hosted SNL, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis made their debut on the show, performing energetic versions of "Can't Hold Us" and their chart-topping ode to ballin' on a budget, "Thrift Shop." It was certainly a highlight, and one of the best performances we've seen on the show (which is notoriously a difficult stage to own and control) in recent memory.
