Remember when we told you to vote for the sexiest vegan in PETA's contest, specifically between the two hot gay guys? Well, he won! Zachary Koval to be exact. The Brooklyn vegan spoke to the Brooklyn Paperfirst and explained the difference between vegetarianism and veganism, the latter being a "lifestyle" that's "holistic." And he seems pretty whipsmart.
Then, when he spoke to HuffPo, things got a little more interesting since they asked how being vegan has affected his dating life, and he answered:
"It definitely makes thing interesting. I never know how or when to "come out" as a vegan. I'll often just casually mention something about veggie options when picking a place to eat. Some guys get strangely defensive, even if that's all I've said, and start listing off the reasons why they could never give up meat. While a vegan partner would be ideal, as someone who would share my ethics and lifestyle, I'll happily date open-minded omnivores as well. What it really comes down to is compassion. If a guy can see beyond himself, have some understanding of how his actions affect the world, and have compassion for others, then I'm interested."
So there ya go, you gotta come out again even when you're vegan. And, according to Koval, if you want that bangin body, all you gotta do is stop eating animals and consuming so many saturated fats. Oh, and work out and stay active. It's not JUST your diet.
