There are two kinds of people in this world: those who watch VH1's Mob Wives and those who spend Sunday evenings tuned to PBS series Downton Abbey. And never the twain shall meet.
Not in a reasonable world, anyway. But who says our world is reasonable?
In a sublimely awesome video for Us magazine, Mob Wives' "Big Ang" Raiola re-enacts lines first uttered by another non-nonsense matriarch, Dowager Countess of Grantham a.k.a. everyone's favorite British actress Maggie Smith.
While a computer-generated Edwardian hat wobbles atop her jet black locks, "Big Ang" recounts such countess quips as "What is a weekend?" as well as "We can't have him assassinated...I suppose" and, in a nod to the very definition of irony, "No one wants to kiss a girl in black."
After watching this clip a number of times, we've decided this should have happened long ago and that more reality shows need to jump on the bandwagon. We could soon bear witness to all sorts of hilarious mash-ups. Just imagine: the housemaid Ethel on Teen Mom, the Dowager Countess does Cribs, Flipping Out flips Downton Abbey, the list is endless.
Until then, we'll just have to be happy-very, very happy-with "Big Ang" doing her Gram impression.
