Stills Released from Madonna's Forthcoming Film W.E.

Madonna isn't known for just sitting around rehashing the same ideas over and over. She's the mother of reinvention, blurring musical boundaries and mediums with nary a wince. She has effortlessly releasesd albums that span just about every musical genre, opens chains of gyms, designs tween clothing lines, acts (with varying degrees of skill -- we still adore her in A League of Their Own), marries and divorces and adopts African children -- all while making time to work-out like a maniac. Now, she's putting on her director hat (for the second time) and the first stills from her forthcoming feature W.E. have arrived. Focusing on the story of King Edward VIII and his affair with American divorcee Wallis Simpson, leading to the King abdicating the throne to his younger brother (you should be familiar with this if you saw The Kings Speech). While we don't know much about the film quite yet, these first images are really beautiful and incredibly stylish, of course. In other words, our interest is definitely piqued, Ms. Ciccone.
