Earlier this monthGlee co-creator Ryan Murphy gave us a heart attack when he revealed that Chris Colfer, Lea Michele, and Cory Monteith would not be returning to the hit show after the upcoming third season because their characters would be graduating this year. But at a Comic-Con panel this weekend, the series' other co-creator and executive producer, Brad Falchuk, revealed -- much to the relief of Gleeks everywhere -- that the three aren't necessarily going anywhere.
"Here's the exact thing: They're seniors. They're graduating. But that doesn't mean they're leaving the show," Falchuk said. "It was never our intention or plan to let these people go... They are not done with the show after this season." Deadline.com also reports that Falchuk said producers have chatted about creating a spin-off show about the characters "trying to start careers on Broadway, but that it probably wouldn't happen and he was 'leaning against doing it.'"
