Helena Bonham Carter to Star in Marc Jacobs' Fall 2011 Campaign?

In other Marc Jacobs news, a picture appeared on photographer Juergen Teller's Tumblr today featuring the actress Helena Bonham Carter in one of Marc Jacobs' fall 2011 domanatrix-meets-couture dresses and funky little spherical pillbox hats. It goes without saying that Teller has shot Marc's ads since before the beginning of time in the same style (gauzy light, white border, models interacting with camera). Marc, of course, likes to mix it up -- one season using top models, the next a cool, celebrity pal. Basically, while there's no official word on the subject, this is likely an image from the designer's next campaign. What we love most about it, though, is the choice of Carter. She's an unlikely muse, constantly landing on Worst Dressed lists far and wide for her eccentric and kooky ensembles, and she caused a major fracas earlier this year when she wore mismatched shoes on the sacred Golden Globes red carpet (how could she!?). But, really, that's the beauty of MJ -- he would never set his sights on the most popular girl in the VIP section of the hottest club. Absolutely not. Let Chanel have their Blake Lively -- Marc's trouble-making instincts lead him to pinpoint the rebel, the dissident, the girl who goes against the grain and is all the cooler for it. That's why Carter, with all her 'can't-be-bothered' allure is the perfect choice....she just gets it, you know?
