Oh, to be the heiress, artist and all-around paradoxically intriguing Daphne Guinness. The fashion muse and creative free spirit notoriously prepared for the Met Gala in a Barneys window last month and yesterday the website Nowness released some behind-the-scenes video of the undertaking. Guinness waxes poetic about her shyness and the beauty of clothing (quixotically referring to a silver hooded cape as, "liquid sky") and tossing around thousand-dollar dresses like they were fished from the bottom of a $1 box at your local Salvation Army. It's all part of the priceless mystique that Guinness has cultivated. Even if it's all an act -- which we doubt, but true eccentricity like this is hard to find -- it's an awesome one, filled with fantasy, romance, oodles of money and a daring sense of sartorial finesse. Kudos, Ms. Guinness! We bow down!
